The Formula for a Healthy Active Lifestyle

We've all heard of the 80/20 rule, right? Well, if you haven't it means 20% counts towards fitness and 80% counts towards nutrition.
You need to be consistent with your workouts, getting at least 30 minutes of exercise, (which is only 2% of your day), 5-6 days a week. Try to stay consistent with the time of each workout so you don't skip out on it or cheat out on yourself. The challenge groups, accountability, and support really help with this! The first week might be the hardest, but once you’re used to working out on the same days and times each week, it’ll be a routine that you're adjusted to.
You also need to be consistent with your healthy eating. That doesn’t mean you have to be perfect all the time but you do have to be on top of it. I try to teach people to eat clean or in other words to eat non-processed foods. Rid your house of the boxed foods and eat like your great-grandparents would. This doesn't mean you can't indulge here and there, or have a glass of wine with dinner. Sure, you can! Don't deprive yourself. This is NOT a diet. This is a lifestyle! If you’re really trying to lose weight you need to be eating healthy, clean food in the proper portions. Remember, it’s OK to splurge on one cheat meal once a week, but make sure it’s a cheat meal, not an entire cheat day. If you do these two things, work out and eat right consistently, you will lose weight and keep it off.
“Being healthy is a journey, not a destination.”
